Many ask him to autograph the distinctive Cammareri bread bags, and he gave dozens to neighbors who wanted them as decorations for Oscar parties. Joe, who owns the candy store where he buys papers every day, calls him "Mr. Hollywood." Not long ago, there was a knock on the basement door at 2 a.m. It was five people who had just seen the movie in Manhattan and wanted to buy some three pounds, the gang kneading, rolling, baking and stacking the French and Italian loaves cheered Gilberto Godoy.

"Hey, we won it," somebody shouted. "What?" said Godoy. "The Oscar, man, we won it" Now, here it is. 7 a.m., at the bakery, at the corner of Henry and Sackett in the Carroll Gar- dens section of Brooklyn, and customers are ex- pressing congratulations. "What a day!" says Fay Anello, a customer for 50 years.

This is "Moonstruck" country and Godoy is the bakery's owner. He also appeared in a scene filmed at the bakery with Cher, whose performance won the Best Ac- 4 tress prize. 0 r4 I i I i Vs i If 1 5 I i A' I ii '-v1: I 1 I I li sr 7 i I X-- -4 (- I t- VT i -4 "-r 4 J. 1 This is what the excitement is all about Until he arrived at the bakery at 1 a.m, yesterday, Godoy did not know that Cher had won an Oscar. The production crew and cast spent 10 days at the bakery, and director Norman Jewison cast Godoy playing himself.

He had one line. "Ronnie," he says, standing at one of the two brick ovens in the basement, speaking to actor Nicolas Cage, "somebody's looking for you over here." Cher is the somebody. "I did better than Cher," says Godoy, a former soccer player in Argentina who arrived in New York penniless in 1970. "It only took me two times to say it right Cher did her part many times." So far, three agents have telephoned Godoy. "I tell them call back when I am not baking," he says.

bread as a souvenir. Godoy interrupted the baking to sell them a dozen loaves. "Now," he says, "I am thinking of special T-shirts." The whole crazy business started about 16 months ago, when a couple of guys turned up to ask if they could rent the bakery for a few days for a movie.
